Child Care for WA

It's time to solve the child care crisis

Our Campaign

Fighting for Washington’s children and families

Children rely on us to grow and thrive, but child care isn’t working for families. Child Care for WA has achievable solutions, based on decades of research, to solve the child care crisis.

The Problem

Child care has Washington in a bind – parents can’t afford to pay more so providers can’t afford to raise wages, provide benefits and grow their programs.

The Solution

The Child Care for WA campaign is calling for living wages + benefits to child care providers and universal access for families, with child care expenses limited at 7% of their annual
income.

The Way Forward

Fitting the pieces together

Our plan is a big step forward for Washington. We’ve built a high-quality system for children, we’ve expanded access and financial supports for families most in need, and we’ve studied what it takes to fully provide quality care, as well as the harm on our communities when parent’s can’t access it.

All of the pieces are in place, and now is the time to take bold steps forward for our children and families.

Roadmap to Change

Fighting for Washington’s Children and Families

Children rely on us to grow and thrive, but child care isn’t working for families. We’re coming together to fix the child care crisis now, because our children can’t wait!

Fixing the Crisis

Parents and child care providers are in a bind – Parents can’t afford to pay more for care, while providers can’t raise wages and grow their businesses. We have a clear path forward to support parents and providers so that child care can work for everyone.
